To this day I still wonder "so, lightning hit the Clock Tower at 10:04pm; Doc Brown calculated it so that Marty and the DeLorean hit the power cable at the exact strike of that minute... but there are 60 seconds in a minute so what if the lightning had hit at 10:04 and 1 second?" #BacktotheFuture

One reason I think public opinion is fundamentally important as a beat is that if people only talk to other people like them, it can be hard to get a sense of which hardships are unique to them or groups they're in, and where those struggles are broadly felt or even more acute elsewhere.

i have said this before but if you are actually interested in influencing people beyond a narrow circle of too-online journalists you will be making direct to camera videos on tiktok, instagram and youtube. if you primarily post on text-based social media then you're just dicking around.
