2. Rowan AKA mountain ash tree.

Most wild trees I see have red berries, but in the old cem and parks here, there's also some with orange, yellow, and even white berries.

Her shoes. Inspired by a social media post that seemed like an innocuous fit check but the light under the doorway in her photo creeped me out. When I painted it, I wanted it to seem ambiguous, odd, and surreal like a half-remembered dream.

I said yesterday that I had posted all of the “gesture series” (I make lines that speak to me of a particular gesture or moment and then I create the characters around them) ink paintings that I had — but then I made another one.

My first foray into learning pen and ink, using a crow quill nib and three different techniques (described in alt text) to illustrate the rare native fawn lily I found on Vancouver Island. I need plenty more practice to control the flow of ink.

#ArtAdventCalendar 3 - Procreate portrait of the late, great Pumpkin at his floofiest. (2005-2024) I certainly seem to have drawn a lot of cats this year.
Digital drawing of orange cat probably sitting in sphinx position, but he's almost pear-shaped with just the white toes of paws extending out from his lion's mane, which is heaped up on his shoulders, then his back slopes gently up to a mass of ripply orange-and-rust fur flecked with scattered tan and white fur. His head and large ears are up and alert, framed by his fur ruff of a mane, his white whiskers wide, and he has gorgeous mint-green eyes, about the same color as the background.
