If a publisher won't commit to human editing, art and translation, the deal is not worth having. They're signalling how little they care about the final product, which comes with your name attached. This is the right place to push back. Having an agent here helps.

Rex stopped and almost tripped over herself as she came into a clearing. The grass was long, but there were patches where someone (or something) had clearly slept. Directly in the middle, two figures stood. They were male, and just as naked as her, but the primary difference is that their heads were that of wolves instead of people.
