If you guys can hold out just a little longer, the vast majority of the pressure and almost all of the slop should let up. Financially, the "AI" companies have completely run out of money, and their ability to force AI stuff into our business is going to fall off a cliff.
It's only a matter of time before humanities departments will be forced to accept AI-authored assignments, as part of revised university policy to cooperate with these billionaires. It's already happening, and our response needs to be decisive. Because our students' ability to *think* is at stake.

If I open an article and the splash banner is AI slop, I close the tab. If you don't have the bare minimum of discernment to not do that, what else do you consider "good enough" to publish?
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

OK, the turkey is in the oven, though it's not cooking nearly as fast as Martha Stewart said, stuffing is ready to go into the oven, the creamed spinach also, the mashed potatoes are gonna re-heat in the microwave, and the hubby is making the gravy. The pecan pie and whipped cream are in the fridge!
