Primaries are coming. We must hold Democratic incumbents responsible for a year of passivity.

Only Democratic voters in primaries NOW can make sure that winning in November actually matters. Are you confident that your incumbent Rep or Senator will rise to the occasion?

These are the conditions under which the Trump regime wants to detain noncitizens indefinitely. It violates international law, the Eighth Amendment, and our own laws & regulations.

And the DOJ and DHS are willing to manipulate any law, defy any court order, to keep doing so.

And even when we move at warp speed and outpace this regime, DHS doesn’t care. They’ve moved people to Texas hours or days after being enjoined.

When ordered to return them, DHS just… doesn’t. The AUSAs let them: when we notify them of a violation, they send the email equivalent of a shrug.

So it’s a race: how quickly can a person’s family realize they were snatched and find a lawyer, and how quickly can that lawyer get a habeas petition of file? And is that faster than ICE can load the detainee on a plane to Texas?

It’s exhausting and terrifying. It can be life and death.

Meanwhile, DHS shows its contempt for the judiciary in a different way. In dozens, likely now thousands, of cases, DHS openly defies court orders.

Minnesota courts enter orders forbidding ICE from moving noncitizens who’ve filed habeas petitions out of Minnesota. They move them anyway.

Legal status doesn’t matter: if you exceed ICE’s melanin threshold, you get snatched. It is ethnic cleansing. There is no other word for it.

The news has shown you video of these often violent detentions. What you don’t see is what happens to these individuals after.

I’ve had a front row seat.

What this man is describing would seem to constitute crimes against humanity under international law. Other governments could and should contest the abuses he’s describing the U.S. government committing against migrants.
“It’s just a horrible, horrible, horrible place,” he said of his detention camp. “I’m not in fear of the other inmates. I’m afraid of the staff. They’re capable of anything.”

it's probably a good sign for our democracy that every member of congress who has been in the secret epstein document room walks out saying stuff like "every powerful person in the country knew, they're all rapists and pedophiles, they should be tossed into a pit and crushed under boulders"

I will not support any funding deal that puts money in the hands of Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and this violent agency. Defund and abolish ICE now.

Last summer, a sheriff put it plainly: the federal government “depends on sheriffs and county jails to have bed space,” and his ICE contract helps “pay the bills.”

I recognize that Schumer is not the leader of the party in any sense, but what I think is far more damning is the fact that there are no indications whatsoever that the caucus is displeased with this leadership.
Our DHS reform demands are exceedingly reasonable.

We're asking ICE to do nothing more than follow the standards that the vast majority of law enforcement agencies already follow.

Republicans, the ball is in your court. The clock is ticking.

A important but taboo subject is how some “civil rights” organizations launder Democratic Party complicity in fascism. Prominent nonprofit organizations are providing cover to Dems by calling for more body cameras as DHS celebrates that very idea and builds unprecedented surveillance databases.
