Noise is unbeaten. Friendship reigns supreme. Putting on shows is the best.

As a Milwaukeean, there are so many Matt Cook lines floating up around there it's hard to keep track of. But my favorite:

"More writers will write about writing
Than bakers will bake about baking"
Which lines of poetry live rent-free in your head?

When I was back home in June last summer, I did an interview for a student documentary about the Milwaukee noise scene. If I'm counting right, its the fourth mke noise doc that I have been in (five if you include the local news story). And it's weird to think that may have been the last one I do.

Looking for record labels who would be a good place to pitch someone who makes weird ethereal pop - like, it's weird, it's influenced by the underground, but it's got hooks aplenty, def pop diva voice, weird v ambient-influenced production. NOT hyperpop. Thoughts? Anyone?

Listening from today:

PCRV- Tourist (Expanded)

Love the idea of returning to a specific space/set up/collection of gestures to create something new years later. Especially when it has Taggart's cut up compositional sense.

Well, it's the last #BandcampFriday of 2025. I only released one thing this year but it took a few years to make, so cut me some slack. Much more to come in 2026.

In the meantime, if you haven't heard this yet, may I humbly request an hour of your time to go on a weird little dismal journey w/ me?
At long last, I am excited to finally announce the release of my new album, "Here, Beneath the Ash-Choked Sky", available now on Bandcamp and streaming.

Last bandcamp friday of the year! A great excuse to do some music appreciating, both on and off that website.

If you're in need of something to grip (he says knowing that's not true), Hoodwinks released an album since that last one. Maybe give it a stream!

TODAY! NOW! DO IT!
We're trying something new at #ISLS2026- Erica and I are organizing an arts-based track for submissions!

We would love to see and showcase your work alongside more traditional conference submissions. And since I'm in charge, I'm going to try to get weird with it.

Ok, this comment is obviously incredibly stupid, but Duffy should feel double embarassed because there are so many goddamn station wagon choices in the UK. It's beautiful. So many long cars that I'm still way taller than.
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."
