The MTA has been very successful at pushing the onus of bus performance improvements onto the city, but it was MTA who walked away from the Select Bus program, did very little on bus stop spacing in its network redesigns & blew off all-door boarding

Andrew Cuomo was the worst of us
Andrew Cuomo has cemented his legacy as a man who will do anything, say anything, hurt anyone, just to keep a grip on power.

Watching Mamdani's victory speech, I'm struck by his—and his campaign's—unabashed vision of the US as an immigrant society, a culture built from the ground up from diversity. It is a complete rejection and reversal of the search for a white-washed homogeneity that the political right projects.

Omg I’m dying 😂😂😂…so…So Emily Austin, a right wing 'influencer' who works for Bibi and the GOP, launched 'Hot Girls for Cuomo'.

Guess who didn't bother to register the URL when she did that? What do you think Hot Girls for Cuomo dot com leads to now?... 😄 Enjoy.

I do not think he should be mayor, but this is so much healthier of an approach to take toward a democratic election than anything we are hearing from Andrew Cuomo. Cuomo is going to leave NYC the moment he loses. Sliwa seems to truly want to stay in this great city.

I can’t stop thinking about how many people are painting Jewish support for the Democratic Candidate for Mayor of New York City as an extreme position.

Despite polls indicating he has the support of something like 40% of NYC Jews.

The leaders of one of the biggest Hasidic communities in NYC going out of their way not to endorse Cuomo and also explicitly saying they don't think Mamdani is antisemitic.

Big deal, to say the least. And speaks more to their pragmatism than anything necessarily ideological.

A higher percentage of New York City Jews intend to vote for Zohran Mamdani in 2025 than Jews nationwide who voted for Donald Trump in 2024, and yet the former are treated as radioactive by American Jewish establishment organizations, while the latter are overrepresented in community leadership.

Curtis Sliwa is more principled in his personal contempt for the disgraced former governor who voluntarily resigned from office amidst 13 credible sexual harassment claims and other scandals than a good number of Democratic voters in this city, and that's not a good reflection on those voters.

NYC is "so far gone" that the NYPD has been forced to issue press releases announcing that homicides are ... at absolute historic LOWS.

Every crime rate in DC is down, and murders in 2024 had erased the Covid spike, on trend this year to be lower than 2019.
