Some good news: Most people don't trust Trump and RFK Jr.'s claims about autism.
Just four percent of respondents told a KFF poll they believed the claim was definitely true, while 30 percent said it was probably false and 35 percent said it was definitely false

Isn’t that just it?

Effective government requires effective opposition.

Unfortunately this seems too much of an ask from the Conservative Party.

I have to confess that after the various false claims by Poilievre about inflation, the carbon tax, and immigration statistics, and his past recommendation to buy crypto which would have devastated many investors at the time, I am less inclined to expect a balanced, rational criticism from him.

This very compelling energy mathing has inspired another of my dumb hot takes: we should stop producing ethanol and re-wild about 70% of the land we currently grow corn on.
Over 40% of corn grown in Indiana is used to make ethanol that cars burn. One acre of corn yields about 16,500 vehicle-miles per year of ethanol, which sounds high until you realize that one acre of solar yields about 2,700,000 vehicle-miles per year: 16,000% more driving for a given plot of land.

Some personal news: after more than a decade with @msf.ca, today is my last day as the Humanitarian Representative to Canada for Doctors Without Borders.
Serving in this role has been the privilege of a lifetime and I’m leaving feeling inspired by the work that MSF does.
The author is standing in front of 3 white Land Cruiser vehicles, wearing blue jeans and a white MSF vest, with one hand on a vehicle and the other on his hip. He is smiling. He is standing in a dirt parking lot, the dirt is a light brown colour, that also has tinted the white Land Cruiser vehicles with dust.

In 2024 the oil and gas industry paid BC taxpayers $20,000 for fresh water. They used and poisoned 9 Billion litres of fresh water. Fracking companies should not be allowed to do this. If you want to call in the government to stop letting them you can here act.stand.earth/page/89100/a...

It's seriously fucked that we let fossil fuel companies take freshwater, poison it with heavy metals and shit, and then pump it below the water table, allegedly taking it out of the water table for hundreds to thousands of years.
So not just stealing water for generations, but poisoning it as well.

Announcement from PM Carney moments ago and this is good news. I've been working on this issue with @saulschwartz.bsky.social and @agenestgregoire.bsky.social for years. We've documented how many Canadians don't file and miss out on or loose benefits, .. 1/3
But we can still see them violently extremely twerking. So they’re not masking it very well are they? 🙃
