Honestly, it needs to go further than this.

We need to confront the fact that democracy and wealth hoarding cannot coexist. Allowing people to amass the resources of a small state/country allows them to act as such, which is inimical to a shared society of “one person, one vote.”

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

I loved #MCAtlanta, but I have a couple of core complaints (shared with others I've spoken to) that I hope @magic.wizards.com takes into account in the future. Frankly, I feel that the con was falsely advertised to me with Edge of Eternities, only to arrive and see primarily Spiderman. (1/X)

From every capitalist point of view, UB sets are a complete success.

However, what I've realized is that I genuinely have no interest in sets or cards that feature an IP I don't care about.

And it's fine, but I do feel sad. It sucks having originality sacrificed on the altar of commerce.

The biggest thing about MTG and how WoTC handles grievances is that the player is the problem

Poor Commander experience? You weren't having the right conversations or cultivating the right playgroup.

Overwhelmed by the deluge of product? You need to only focus on the parts that make you happy.

I am glad you took the space to acknowledge player issues with UB, but I honestly think this State of Design paints too rosy of a picture just because sales are up. I know that is ultimately the only metric that matters to Hasbro and probably Wizards, but it is the least important one to fans.
