Hello new bsky pals! Nice to meet you.
I work in various media and draw various things, but most of you probably know me from my work for MtG.
Welcome to the next platform. Be kind.

Ahhh! If I’m back in 2027, I will remember and poke you to see what you’re up to!
artofheatherhudson.bsky.social
This was my first year to be invited, so theoretically I could return in 2027.
artofheatherhudson.bsky.social
EW, sensibly, has a policy of not inviting the same artist to the same event in successive years, unless they’ve painted the official playmat for that year. This keeps things interesting for the mtg fans.
artofheatherhudson.bsky.social
EW is an old-school Magic; the Gathering event that happens in 3 dif. cities around the workd each year. The US site is Pittsburgh (which is a cool city!)
Many old-skul artists were invited as guests. One of my most popular images was also one of the first 3 illos I painted for MtG back in 1993.

Back home from Eternal Weekend Pittsburgh!
It’s good to see folks from all over the country and beyond, just playing Magic together. It’s good to see my artist friends again, & to meet new friends who I’ve known as names on cards for (many) years.
Many thanks to the organizers for inviting us.

#portfolioday is here again!
Hi everyone! I'm Sam, freelancer and illustrator on a variety of Warhammer tabletop roleplaying games. Here's a tiny slice of what I do:
Voll Adventures cover for Imperium Maledictum - a Vigilite interrogates a cultist at the site of a massacre, while our heroes prepare to intervene! An Ash Drake ambushes a rather overmatched Chaos warband. Aeldari factions combine forces against a horde of Orks in this cover illustration for Aeldari - Inheritance of Embers for Wrath & Glory. The Skaven Blistrox, with readied spear and braced shield!

Created for Peculiar Path Inc.; A painting of a cluster of boats and ships in front of an oil rig; the centermost ship is an aircraft carrier; all have been converted into solarpunk living spaces with visible gardening and retrofitted elements. The sea is calm, the sky is blue with big fluffy clouds, it feels peaceful and hopeful and vibrant. Created for Numizmatic Games. A sheet of black and white line and tone drawings of pieces of landforms, ready to beincorporated into a procedural environent kit; all variations on layered desert rock structures; several are fully cleaned up, the rest are a little sketchier. Created for Chaosium. A black and white inked and toned lineup of five Gloranthan adventurers, wearing bronze age outfits and armor inspired by etruscan, scythian and sumerian clothing and technology. There are three men, alla bout the same height, with beards and long hair, and two women, one shorter in scaled maille with a braid, and one taller, in religious dress, with full etruscan hairstyle including crimped curls and a headband. All have tattoos showing gloranthan runes. Created for Hit Point Press. A digital painting of a strange goat-like creature with needles for feet and a visibly bad attitude, leaping towards the viewer, in a landscape of strange precarious stacks of stone. Behind it, a dusk sky with a bright moon, giving it a dramatic rim light.

They are still mid renovation now, but once you get past the tarped-off construction area by the front gate, it’s a beautiful zoo. The animals seem healthy & obv. keepers are trying to offer enrichment games.

Since we had some time to kill before our flight home, we went to the pittsburgh zoo/aquarium which is v. nice and has a *giant anteater*(!!!) which was out toddling around before our very eyes.
Now we’re done.
Pls take me home now, magic airplane.

Well that sounds fun! I will look it up on KS when I get back home.

Painterly bust portrait of a kindly earth genasi woman. She has a soft, sweet smile. Her skin is warm grey with a pearlescent sheen where the light hits. Her hair is dark brown, curly and arranged in a messy low bun. She wears a purple cloak with a thin gold border over a simple cloth tunic in an orange shade. Her jewellery is gold: sunburst earrings and a pendant of the Church of Lathander. The background is a pastel sunrise sky. Blackbeard tarot card painting from OFMD. A kraken tentacle emerges from the sea and has begun circling him. A rapier pierces his heart, where he holds a swatch of red cloth. The sword points to a distant lighthouse on the horizon Compilation of three stylised headshot portraits of Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher. On the leftmost she is smiling cheerfully. In the middle she has her classic disappointed face with eyes closed. In the last she stares in surprise. A stylised portrait of David Tennant as The Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna. They are clinched close, both looking alarmed towards something offscreen to the right of the image. The background is a starry sky.

all scientists can be classified according to just two variables: whether they're more mad physics or mad biology, and whether their hubris is in calling up what cannot be put down, or seeking to understand what no man was meant to know
we were definitely not meant to know about that worm with a hundred buttholes, for instance
