Good move to step away from Microsoft. However, the article is claiming that Khan’s account was disabled by Microsoft, this is correct with one note: it was on the request of his own office/person, at least that was the news went it happened. Not 100% sure but a source would be nice in the article.
The International Criminal Court is ditching Microsoft Office, saying it’s too dependent on US tech, in favor of Open Desk, a German open source alternative.

The move comes after Microsoft revoked ICC head Karim Khan’s email access when he was sanctioned by the US for the warrant against Netanyahu.

I finally did it: I’ve become an MPSE member. Very happy to be accepted in a group of professionals and wizards in storytelling with sound.
The perks are tremendous, reading Wavelength and soon watching Sound Advice events, it all is very inspiring and interesting!! Thanks for accepting me MPSE!

There are three things everyone should know about youth and far-right voting:

1: There is (averaged all European countries) no correlation between being young and voting for the far right.
@ipsosnl.bsky.social published an age breakdown of the results of the election polls regarding tomorrow's Dutch elections.

Young Dutch voters are leaning more towards the centre-left (D66, PvdA-GL, PvdD, Volt), and are less likely to vote for both the far-right and the center-right.

Experienced Seven Samurai in 4K (restored). Utterly awesome film. Blown away by this 1954 masterpiece!
Minimalistic soundtrack works well with balanced mix of music and sound effects! Loved the Grey Warbler in the opening scene!

I’ve seen just one counter-protester at No Kings San Diego. He’s got a Trump 2024 flag and this guy has been following him around for probably an hour playing Benny Hill and circus music.

i’ve wondered whether the traditional tactic of peaceful resistance to shock the conscience of observers who see nonviolence met with force is still possible in a media environment where only novelty can get the attention of the people you need to be shocked, and portland seems to have an answer
Streets are still closed off in front of the Portland ICE facility at 8:30pm. Protesters have gathered on a side street. Dance party in progress.

#NickClegg : “Quite a lot of voices [artists] say: ‘You can only train on my content, if you first ask’.
And I have to say that strikes me as somewhat implausible because these systems train on vast amounts of data.”

Nope not implausible at all… it is the law.

Do you ever think about the fact that Wikipedia is the last good major website on the internet? You aren't bombarded with ads. It doesn't try to push video on you, and it doesn't redirect you to a scam site.

sorry but after an update the software you used to use to type now requires you describe to it what words you want it to try to write. they will be wrong, but this is important for the product to learn from your corrections, because you now volunteer for their business. also all your other software.

Most of the power authoritarians have is freely given. We should not comply with them in advance.

Trump is far weaker than he looks. So is the GOP. We should draw them out, drain them at every opportunity, and fight for people’s wellbeing at every turn.

We have been sent here to fight for people.
AOC: I think there's two things that are happening at once: One, there absolutely is an unprecedented abuse of power, destruction of norms, erosion of our government and our democracy in order to prop up an authoritarian style of governance

However, they are weaker than they look…
