future mayoral candidates in big cities have so much to learn
New York City: The time has arrived. Finally, a chance to tell the city EXACTLY what your landlord’s been getting away with. NYC’s first Rental Ripoff Hearings are happening in all five boroughs, and we want to hear from you. Real New Yorkers. Real stories. Real policy changes.

It's so rare and you have to get so lucky to have your team's guy sound like baseball. We're so lucky to have been able to listen to him for as long as we did. An absolute legend and a joy to get to hear him call a World Series run. We'll miss him and Jays games just won't sound right going forward.
Congratulations on an unbelievable career to one of the best to ever do it.

Buck was the best to ever do it not just because he was a great broadcaster but because he was an old guy who didn’t get left behind by the game. He always praised the Jays for having fun and playing with joy and he wasn’t above changing his mind. He was the model, not Smoltz.
Buck saying he initially opposed extended netting but came around on it because it’s saved so many people who are “eating popcorn or having a cold beer” is why I love him. Old school guy whose mind can be changed, only guy on earth not citing ~kids on their phones~ there

Police in Toronto have attacked their critics for years, insisting they need more money, more hires.

Now seven police officers in Canada's largest city charged with bribery, obstruction of justice, extortion, drug trafficking, robbery, and conspiracy to commit murder.

How deep is the rot?

I’m gutted, she was a legend off of SCTV alone but she had an amazing career’s worth of work.

It's cold, people are hungry, and the federal government has tried attacking SNAP benefits as part of their occupation of MN. Food banks are incredibly efficient in getting food to those in need. Direct donations are the best way to support, so here's that link again:

People wondering why WWE Unreal airs embarrassing booking meetings or out of touch quotes from the head honchos, but all of the engagement the clips are getting today proves the show’s reason for existing. The content doesn’t matter, WWE being the center of attention does.

It feels like AEW guys are more willing to jump to WWE when like they aren’t progressing anymore, and I wonder how WWE gets their mid-carders to stay and be patient when there’s a harder ceiling on moving up the card there.
Powerhouse Hobbs' deal with AEW is up at midnight, and WWE sources believe he's headed there, FightfulSelect.com has learned.

Why would anyone want to reminisce about 2016? It was bad! Everyone thought it was bad at the time!

It is my general sense of American culture that they're not really big on introspection, taking stock and coming to terms with things that happened.

A lot of people on here have ideas about a great reckoning where Americans come to terms with what happened and hold the perpetrators accountable, and that it sure didn't happen when American police served as an instrument of horrific evil violence in service of state racism.

- Recent tunnel setup was just ok, but going back to all LED is a bummer
- Stage is still way too damn bright during matches, very distracting when they switch to a ringside camera angle
- Too many logos on the screens during matches, they should have wrestlers’ faces on each side like NJPW does
A new year calls for a new stage! Here's another look at the new setup for 2026!

The only way I could possibly be ok with a second MJF title reign is if he drops it to Eddie Kingston, or someone like Bandido. Otherwise, it’s looking grim.

Be more efficient with TV time. Get rid of any promo segment longer than 5 minutes (get rid of in-ring promo segments altogether, move them to the stage if you need to do it live). Bring down the average time of matches just enough so you can fit more people (I.e. women) on the shows.
What is one thing that you think TK can do to improve AEW overall? I really can't think of anything other than giving the women more air time. #AEW #WrestleSky

Today is the day for reading everything that was written or recorded about the Blue Jays. But I just remembered how Sportsnet waited until right before the 9th inning to do a montage set to Long Time Running. It felt perfect at the time, but it takes on a different meaning now.
