Our trip to New Orleans included an unexpected boat ride out into the bayou and Gulf for fresh oysters from the sea. We got a tour of the entire oyster farming process and as many free samples of the delicious creatures as we wanted. Definitely beats getting drunk on Bourbon St. any day!

Haven’t shopped at Target in more than two years. Haven’t missed it at all.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

Now that these toxic people are out of the way, I look forward to holding Aurora's new progressives' accountable to making this city equitable and accessible.
NEW: Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky has conceded. A stunning defeat for a MAGA media fixture who built a national profile on claims of a "complete gang takeover" of Aurora that led President Trump to visit and falsely proclaim the city "conquered" by an immigrant gang

Alli Jackson has so many great positions, and one of them that is overlooked is public trash cans and public restrooms. And she uses the word "dignity" when talking about it. She's looking for a cleaner, more accessible city and so am I! So happy she won a seat on the Aurora City Council.
This is what you will see first about Alli Jackson when you hit her website.

This is not someone talking about public-private partnerships and paying homage to small business. She is prioritizing immigrants, unionization, the environment.

Aurora has been the subject of horrific national scrutiny over the last year, especially since now ousted (fuck yes) Danielle Jurinsky made national news by claiming that it hosted "roving gangs."

This is Aurora standing up and saying "no, actually, we love who we are and want to love us better."

Here in Aurora, CO, council member Danielle Jurinsky thrust herself into the spotlight as the national poster child for anti-Venezuelan fear mongering. Yesterday, Aurora voted her out of office. Racism and bigotry doesn't always pay off. Please let the door hit your ass on the way out, Danielle 👋🏽

This is how it looked on the ballot.

Not going in the right direction for the Republican slate, which benefited from lots of right-wing dark money. In contrast left-leaning groups spent almost nothing and appear to be on the verge of, I believe, a shock 6-5 city council majority.
