A legal group has applied for a court summons to prosecute a British-Israeli who allegedly served in the Israeli military, with an initial hearing expected in the coming weeks.

The case is the first such application since Britain recognised the state of Palestine in September, which makes Palestine a "friendly state" in legal terms.

Court documents submitted on Monday by the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP), seen by Middle East Eye, detail alleged violations of the Foreign Enlistment Act (FEA).

According to the act, it is a crime for a UK national to serve in the military of a foreign state at war with a friendly state.

The British-Israeli dual national allegedly served in the Israeli military's Lebanese border unit and in the occupied West Bank.

I’m getting weary of this. This government is representative of what the people of this place want. The argument is with all of us. Turning it into a constant personalised political snipe belittles the nature of the problem.
Thanks to Murray and his ALP pals, weather reports like this will become increasingly scary and weird

Greenhouse emissions linked to a gas field being developed by Australian fossil fuel company Woodside could lead to the death of at least 480 people and expose more than half a million to unprecedented heat, new research suggests.
Scientists from six universities have examined the climate impact of the $16.5bn Scarborough project, which is expected to start production off the northern Western Australian coast next year and could result in 876m tonnes of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere over three decades.
