Getting people to go along with all kinds of horrors takes far less than you'd think.
It's a smol but good club to be in. I wish the right side of history could be the right side of now, though.
There are many times when our community kept me anchored while it seemed like the rest of the world was going crazy. For example: we, our Discord server, and our larger reader community are generally pro-Ukraine and anti-Gaza genocide. I hadn’t realized how rare that combo could be!

Lol, this lecture came on the radio now. Decided to look up Rutger Bregman. This is the top result. BBC left the part where he warns about declining trust in media, but censored the part where he warns about “the most openly corrupt president in American history.”

This is just openly fascist but there are still no small number of people who think America is just going through a moment and it's because they've never been on the wrong side of its policies.

The least interesting uses of the whole AI tech stack is in trying to make it more human. We solved making humans ages ago, really well. There are something like 8 billion of them in fact.
Because we already have things that make pictures and write stuff and create videos. They’re called………. ARTISTS. There is nothing interesting and novel and revolutionary about making shitty, derivative text or pictures unless you are incredibly incurious and easily impressed.
