Our attitude toward the climate crisis is trending horrifyingly toward head-in-the-sand. It won’t just go away if we pretend it’s not there, folks.
Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.

Don't look up!

Remember, the big argument for AI in the arts is that these “artists” have ideas, hundreds of ideas, thousands, all that was stopping them was the hoards of gatekeeping musicians, writers, illustrators… and not that they were lazy and didn’t want to put in the work.

Is this a new (Carney-era) initiative, or ongoing from earlier?
Canada needs money so desperately the government is going after low income people who took pandemic benefits in good faith.

But it doesn't need money desperately enough to keep the luxury tax on yachts, or the slightly higher tax rate on capital gains Carney cancelled.

Saw someone defending why they can’t pay taxes. WTF?

Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

“Canadians please come back to the United States, we love you(r tourism money)”

Uh huh. Nope.
Whoever came up with the idea of charging foreigners a $100 surcharge to enter the big national parks has obviously never visited a national park.

- It will discourage foreign visitors (and their money)
- It will mean miserably long wait times for everyone as park entry attendants check passports

Like some kind of percentage you take each year that was in proportion to their ability to pay based on the amount of money their investments make? Or when they pass on inheritance?
Wonder what we could call it
