We’re about to enter a very dumb, dark, and endlessly corrupt era of modern America. Many of us spent 9 years warning against Trump’s depravity and greed. Nothing left to say now. It will be bad, often in ways you’re not expecting (see the surprise pandemic of 2020).

Take care of yourselves first.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills: the emails from Landon Thomas has his New York Times signature block...he was employed by NY Times at the time. He was communicating directly with Epstein about Trump, and was given incriminating information about Trump. It's been in NYT's possession since 2015

Per CDC source: At internal leadership meeting this afternoon, it was shared that 1,257 people were RIF'd at CDC. Number may not be final. Apparently, chief of staff was unaware that RIFs were going to occur so not clear who is making decisions. (Short 🧵)

America doesn’t take care of babies.
America doesn’t nurture kids.
America doesn’t protect teenagers.
America doesn’t support adults.
America doesn’t help the elderly.

America’s only priority is wealth and the wealthy. And it will burn everything in this country to keep the wealthy comfortable.

wow I wonder if the cops who lied about the sitting senator even though everything they did was on tape are also being less than honest about the presence of violent agitators at the protests in los angeles. they might even not have told the entire truth about other protests

Trump underwater in literally every single issue. 38% approval overall. 27% approval on his spending bill. 40% approval on deportations.

Musk also at 30% approval. 38% approval for RFK Jr. 35% approval for JD Vance.

Nobody fucking wants any of this.

It is 100% carrying water for the opposition to participate in this collective delusion that Dems for some reason need to answer for every teen who throws a rock rather than hold the Trump admin accountable for intentionally creating chaos and breaking the law to stoke violence.

They are in charge.

Both legal and undocumented immigrants are woven into America’s economic and sociocultural fabric. What will those communities, and America as a whole, look like after 4 years of Trump declaring war on immigration and immigrants? We are hurtling towards a broken future.

ICE IS OUT OF CONTROL.

Video of SEIU California’s President David Huerta getting assaulted & arrested during an ICE raid in the warehouse district of Downtown Los Angeles today.

He’s an LA native, American citizen and labor leader.

Unbelievably horrified by this attack in Boulder. We don’t know the full story of the attacker, but no matter what it is, let me be clear: Senseless, antisemitic attacks do not help Palestinians, Jews, or Israelis.

Committing terror attacks against people standing for hostages is disgusting.

This article is further proof that RFK Jr. has no business serving as Secretary of Health and Human Services. He is deeply unqualified, ignores proven treatments and cures, and will fake studies in an attempt to legitimize his pseudo-science.

Our public health community deserves more.

Scoop from me and @mollytaft.com: FEMA Has Canceled Its Four-Year Strategic Plan Ahead of Hurricane Season

Rescinding the strategic plan would “make the agency so inept that the states or tribes have no option but to assume operations and responsibilities” themselves.

the thing thing about the admonition to “not take the bait” is that while it makes sense in the context of an election — where you are trying to communicate a narrow set of ideas broadly — it does not make sense in the context of “how do we make this president as unpopular as possible”

🚨 Disturbing footage shows the brutal arrest of a terrified 16-year-old girl—sobbing, screaming as “ICE agents” abducted her mom without a warrant or ID. At least 4 grown men slammed her face into the pavement.
This is child abuse.
This is state terror.

One of grants frozen at Cornell: $6.7M (4 yrs) to develop heart pumps for babies born w/ heart defects.

It took decades of work to get to point of prepping device for in-human clinical trials. No private company could do this.

The cruelty of the Trump administration is heartbreaking. So to speak.

After receiving a stop-work order from the federal government, the future of a device to help children with heart defects is uncertain.

Trump really prepping for economic catastrophe
Trump on China: "They made a trillion dollars with Biden selling us stuff. Much of it we don't need. Somebody said, 'oh, the shelves are gonna be open.' Well, maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls, and maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks more."
