Training and paying doctors to work in the National Health Service is actually EXACTLY where I want my cash to go as a taxpayer, Wes, and I'll have you out at the next election.
The fact that Waitrose exploited his enthusiasm and desire to participate in society just to get the free labour is deeply sickening. If it was me and they turned around and offered the paid job, I'd tell them to fuck off.
Job applications and the world of work were scary and impenetrable to me. I did not think I could be like other people, feel like I could belong, have a normal job, and I had no idea how to even start. I did not feel like a real person. It caused me deep anxiety issues and dissociative episodes.
'"He gave over 600 hours of his time purely because he wanted to belong, contribute, and make a difference" said his mum.'

I'm gonna be real, this story hits something I'm very familiar with. My autism does not prevent me from having a 9-5 office job currently, but in my teens/early 20s...

I'm growing real damn impatient at the classical music world, which seems to be populated with complete marks who are transfixed by having keys jangling in front of them

UK Opera will be nothing more than a managerialist container of antagonisms within the sector. Its funding structure means it is beholden to ACE, directly through ACE funding, and being made up of ACE-funded orgs. Another layer of intermediary functionaries to is not a herald of change.
Has she ever had a job in opera (beyond being a professional cellist several decades ago)? No. Does she believe she has a god-given right to be a mover and shaker in the opera and classical world, even though she failed to be reelected and named Culture Secretary? Yes.
Former shadow culture secretary Thangam Debbonaire is to head a new trade body representing the UK’s opera sector, founded by companies including Glyndebourne and English National Opera.

Big announcement!!! My video on how Chicken Run is communist is now part of Britain's media history

Over the summer the British Film Institute (BFI) got in touch cause they wanted to archive this video as a historically significant piece of media (lol) and it's now been archived
Yup! Making my new commute that much harder 🙃
When will the Northern line return from war

I'm an open borders commie, so not my circus/clowns, but honestly fascinating to me how the controlled immigration crowd all landed on the consensus that "well-paid migrants only" is somehow what serves their political economy
some things never change
You're allowed to say the word, it's fine
My line manager referred to my autism as 'your situation', which makes it sound like I'm entangled in a mysterious yet delicate affair full of intrigue and secrecy.
