Sir Richard said that although there was only a remote chance of a direct Russian attack on the UK that “does not mean the chances are zero”. He added: “Sons and daughters. Colleagues. Veterans will all have a role to play. To build. To serve. And if necessary, to fight. And more families will know what sacrifice for our nation means.”

We were digging a new raised allotment bed and it turned out some frogs/toads were living underground lifestyles in hollow bricks beneath the dirt. We rescued them and relocated them to our pond!

Be it a painting by Thomas Kinkade, an AI-generated song about how all migrants should be deported, or an official Homeland Security account wishing that we could return to the world of an 80s Coca-Cola ad, the pure kitschy nostalgia of fascist art promises simplicity. A world without discomfort or friction, where childish ignorance protects you from knowledge, where all is homogenous, where everyone’s smiling face is white. Fascism depends on the depoliticisation of culture - or rather, a strict limitation of what political education can be allowed to develop - and the dissolution of art into entertainment and consumption. A reason why fascists love AI art is that it removes the inconvenient human completely from the production process,

rounded out my Arvo Pärt concerts this year with a 12 Ensemble concert of his works last night at LSO St Lukes.

Highlights included a fantastic new commission by Jasmine Morris and also the GBSR Duo percussionist catching a falling tubular bell before it hit the floor in the middle of a piece.
