protest rsvp discourse is ridiculous. yes, there is a marginal increased risk over just showing up. yes, harping on it might discourage people from getting involved in a more durable way. but the needle is getting moved so little either direction by posting here of all places!

I am not going to moralise to anyone else what the principles under which they vote should be but I will say that I simply do not agree with the general thesis that voting for a party always means a wholesale endorsement of /every single plank of their platform/
