People used to have a basic understanding of what a story is. That's not nostalgia--that's a fact. Standardized testing, no child left behind, and various elements of fascism, propaganda, and capitalism, have been the hammer of illiteracy crushing us for decades now

The fact this even needs to be said--let alone in earnest--let alone people replying like they desperately need to convince people of it--let alone so often so many places by so many--is a testament to how fucking far literacy has fallen in multiple major countries.

Y’all I am by no means saying you should stop discovering new music 😭 I’m simply suggesting being intentional about which albums you listen to. Don’t just let an algorithm make a playlist for you. Buy a damn cd/tape/vinyl. Listen so much that you want the t shirt

I genuinely believe it is best to enjoy less music. Re-listening to one of my favorite albums will always take priority over discovering new music. Streaming has normalized the over-consumption of music to the point that most people listen to things once and never again.
