Honestly, the collapse of America started the second they said “oh well covid is only affecting the elderly and the disabled” as if 1. The geriatric population isn’t about to be largest sample population because of the Boomers and 2. The disability community is one EVERYONE will join at some point.

Instead of thinking "no one cares about me," I expand that thought to "I feel like no one cares about me because X, Y, Z triggered me, but I know people *do* care because of A, B, C." Then, the experience becomes about unpacking the trigger, not about ruminating on the false thought.
