We have new unemployment rate data out of Morning Consult, through October 25th.

Less good than a few months ago (when it was down significantly Y/Y), but not clearly deteriorating yet either. No big alarm bells about the labor market here.

Families are already hanging by a thread, but the sad truth is it’s about to get a lot worse when SNAP benefits don’t go out in November.

Starting November 1st, SNAP benefits are being cut, leaving millions of people with limited or no access to food.

If you are able to help, help. Food banks also take cash donations, which allow them to fill the banks with what they know is most needed.

We are truly all we have.

Why did pay growth slow for job switchers?

Trump claimed that immigrants were “taking Black jobs,” but even after he deported 350,000 immigrants this year, 300,000 Black women lost their jobs. Black unemployment, overall, has soared to 7.5% under Trump, while white unemployment has dropped to 3.7%.
