Your yearly reminder that it’s almost time to prepare the prune Krampus
Forget cheese and pineapple hedgehog, every party needs an edible Krampus. Especially knowing how much children love prunes.

This whole thread is really interesting, but this in particular blows my mind: I can’t quite get my head around a desire to write – a desire so concrete, students are spending huge sums of money to study the craft as undergraduates – without a desire to read?
I've never encountered more students who say they hate reading. Students who want to be teachers, writers, or both. I wonder if "hate" means "I have trouble reading," but I also talk with so many students who write in a genre but refuse to read in it. They can't see themselves in relation to others.

I saw a TikTok that said: “it really bums me out when I see someone walking their dog with headphones in. That’s the highlight of your dog’s day and you’re not even fully present 😔”

My dog, when she’s locked in and fully present, doesn’t have a clue what’s going on. She’s just happy to be involved.

The Meowth is out of the bag.

I am currently researching and writing my next book, 'Space Invaders' a queer history of videogames.

Just like 'Queer As Folklore' this is a subject very very close to my heart. It's very bloody exciting. What a lucky sod!

Someone should write a post about wanting AI to do their admin and housework while they create art instead of AI creating art while they do admin and housework. has anyone thought of that? has anyone said that yet

the demand for yassification of authors, a class traditionally allowed to look like freakazoids, is an assault on me personally
I just don’t want “film a video and hope it goes viral” to be a “reasonable” expectation of authors!! I hate being on video! I am too awkward for video!

Took my little white dog for a walk in the pitch black forest – no moonlight, no street lights, just the darkest velvet of November. I took my phone out to take a pic to demonstrate how dark it was, but my front facing camera was on and I was confronted with my own face like:
