Following book industry news…B&T had already significantly shrunk their services when they scaled back to just libraries a few years ago. This loss will be significant as that leaves only Ingram as a wholesaler. Amazon is not technically a wholesaler but clearly impacts the distribution landscape.
The closure of one of the largest U.S. library book wholesalers has disrupted the flow of new books to libraries around the country, including the Anchorage Public Library. Wait times have increased for new releases.

What makes me nervous about living in the city is my lack of ability to heat my home with wood. (Fireplace sucks heat). Apparently the laws around useful fireplace wood inserts were changed and compliant products weren’t available the last time I inquired.

Dr. McMahon AND his wife (an instructor of village CHA/Ps) are incredibly kind, smart, dedicated, caring, people. I cannot say well enough how enormous their contributions are to public health in rural AK. I hope that Alaska, at least, continues to respect their vaccine recommendations.
