When the conflict expands in scale & scope, the good feelings help propel people to do hard things. Shitting on the public rallies is fucking dumb. It's also ahistorical and lacks any serious engagement with the history of social movement successes in the US. It's just trashy demobilization.

I could kinda buy any other President pretending they’re shrugging off 7 million people hitting the streets to convey they hate him, but not the guy still beefing with Rosie O’Donnell.
(to be clear it is not the omegaverse i am passionate about, but niche subcultures that have escaped containment)
he's got the juice (dorky dad edition)
thank you, you've vindicated my explaining the omegaverse to my increasingly baffled partner as an effective seduction strategy

every smug internet communist tweet about showing up to a No Kings protest with an abolish ICE shirt to scare the libs is getting completely mogged by the real-life winemoms showing up with slogans like "ICE will melt in hell"

to this i would add a good amount of self-loathing stemming from a belief that liberal political views are somehow “inauthentic” or an affectation of “elites”
I agree with whoever said a rather under-appreciated dynamic is the extent to which Professional Politics Opinion Havers flat out just find the left interpersonally irritating in a way they do not find the right so, and I think a lot of the talk of a vibe shift was wish-casting their irritants away.
humor makes tyrants look small and it gets shared, both of which encourage more normies to join the protest. repro rights people have been doing this for decades, and id argue bleeding out in a parking lot or being jailed for a miscarriage is pretty horrifying
the point of a mass protest is to demonstrate that normies hate something, and that cracking down would involve pistol whipping grandmas. people do not like when you do that. it's the civil rights playbook.

Cringe is back, folks, and it's going to save this country.
Sorry to be corny but the aerial shots of these crowds are almost indescribably moving and hopeful

folks can complain about the effectiveness of scheduled orderly mass protest but to think about it another way its the closest thing we have to the opening scene of A Muppet Christmas Carol where all the muppets sing "there goes Mr. Dipshit, there goes Mr. Ass" to Scrooge and it clearly bothered him
