LMAOOO WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE NEW XBOX HANDHELD COMES WITH MICROSOFT TEAMS AND ONEDRIVE INSTALLED??? this is the fucking goofiest company in games
a list of apps pre-installed on the Xbox ROG Ally including Microsoft Teams and Onedrive
It’s so nice that our current choices are a neoliberal, forever-austerity, anti-labour group of blazing centrists or these fucking conservative losers drafting tight against the wake of emergent fascism.

Cool stuff. Fucking love that for us.
On Monday, Pierre Poilievre shared his party’s petition to “end DEI” and “restore the merit principle.”

Just before that, another Conservative MP posted that “Canada must now place restrictions on birthright citizenship”

If it all sounds a bit Trump-y, that’s probably because…it is:
Love the tough guy act from a group of people on campus who don’t even do their jobs if it’s raining.
At UNB, professors and students were surveilled for Palestine solidarity because, per campus security, the university is the President’s “house.”

I don’t know what else to expect but this is a good indication that no one needs to listen to the Digital Alliance.
Looks like Canada's approach to "sovereign AI" will involve creating structural dependencies on large US tech companies
Excerpt from an article that reads: Lehane met with AI Minister Evan Solomon on Monday. Solomon told The Logic in June that his mission is to “create sovereign AI.” But “sovereignty is not solitude,” Solomon said, noting that Canada still needs technology and capital from other countries.

OpenAI is participating in similar initiatives in other advanced economies. In May, the firm launched OpenAI for Countries, a new program that localizes ChatGPT and its underlying models for a nation’s particular customs and the requirements of its public sector. It is also offering to build data centres for countries that help pay for the infrastructure.

Countries are turning to OpenAI because of its “cutting-edge technology,” which can be used to build homegrown tools and applications, and because the firm can help stimulate their domestic AI ecosystems by building or buying compute capacity, Lehane said.
Lmao Jesus fucking Christ. It’s gas leak the regime.
RFK Jr on Tylenol and autism: "It is not proof. We're doing the studies to make the proof."
Elbows down.
Completely unsurprising. Every single policy position has been the exact equivalent of this craven capitulation.

Incredible evidence that will be summarily ignored by federal, provincial, and municipal governments for, I’m sure, generations while they do things like dump more money into rent-a-cops and harassing the houseless.
Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

Dunno man, seems a little misleading to write an article about Trump describing activity in Portland and Chicago as “insurrection” with a 33 year old photo of a burning donut shop taken in the 1992 LA Riots (sans caption explaining that) as the header on all your posts about it.

I see the Mississippi police haven’t changed in the last 60 years.
Trey Reed, a student at Delta State University in Mississippi, was found hanging from a noose. Mississippi police ruled the death a suicide. Now an autopsy reportedly concludes that he suffered extensive blunt force trauma across his body before he died, meaning he was beaten before he was lynched.

According to a source who isn't authorized to comment publicly, the autopsy of Trey Reed reveals that his death was not caused by a suicide.

I know I’ve been posting a lot about this, but it’s telling of how this government looks at society that at the very moment Mark Carney can’t stop talking about nation-building projects, he’s throwing the biggest nationwide service-delivery network on the scrap heap because it doesn’t make money.
The more I watch myopic growth goblin neoliberals take the austerity axe to everything good for society, the more I realize they’ve chosen to scaffold the infrastructure driving many to embrace fascism.

Why support people when you can fast track discontent with trivial profit gains?
It’s absolutely right that workers walk off the job in response to the government taking a chainsaw to Canada Post.

If we lose the unique national infrastructure the postal service has, it will never be rebuilt. We should be using it to expand services to the public, not nickel and diming it.
