I just tried using AI to edit my memoirs from childhood and it started ok - as it cleaned up my text, made it more readable but the it started making shit up. It continued to invent a whole a life for me that clearly wasn't mine, nor was it in any of the text i asked it to edit.

Most of the AI hate i see is perfectly rational fear of losing livelihoods, destruction of creativity, ripping off artists, allowing the elites to create a false reality to manipulate society and politics, and destroying the environment in the process. What's not to like, eh?
Realising a lot of AI hate is just part of the ongoing boomerification of millennials and therefore a non issue. The kids will learn to use it and do great things with it.
