It's felt extremely good to start cutting off the platforms and services in my life that I don't really need. I degoogled my phone yesterday, set up a local cloud server to back up all of my photos in, shut down my Amazon account, and am now working on moving everything to a junk email.

lolnah, Target can fuck off with this. I had a few reasons to go to Target but as I haven't been there in a long time, I got plenty of local options.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.
They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.
If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."
🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.

Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

Game development is funny because you can ask for the most ridiculous, esoteric, eldritch abomination of a feature and an engineer can implement it in a lunch period but if you ask for something like "I want this door to open both ways" it takes six months and several hundred thousand dollars.
Everything about making video games is harder than you think.

It's very, very interesting to see all of the LGBTQ art from Mass Effect for N7 day, knowing that all of that would get the artists arrested and likely murdered in the country that now owns EA.

Google, Samsung, Motorola, and Apple all advertising their phones as being jam-packed with AI is the single most effective marketing technique to make sure I never buy any of their phones.

the powers that be want you to know less about your computer. they are taking away your beautiful file pathing, keyboard inputs, considered mouse clicks, and expertise of your OS. everything will soon be done by mumbling into the open air and praying it works correctly. this is a nightmare.
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

Charlie Kirk should not have been murdered. Political violence has no place in any system, and now his wife and children are going to have to carry that trauma for the rest of their lives.
But to masquerade Kirk as a "moderate" or "just a man defending his views" is naive and obtuse at best.

My mom posted some video from The Kiffness in our family chat, where he says that Charlie Kirk was just a moderate right wing person who died defending what he loved.
I do not have it in me to explain that Charlie "The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a mistake" Kirk is very much not a "moderate".

Lune is one of the most insanely autism-coded characters I've ever come across in any media whatsoever and it's NOT fucking close.

it's almost impressive just how much AI generated dogshit has completely ruined so many multi-million dollar sites. Search engines, storefronts like amazon and etsy, pinterest, all of it is almost completely unusable now because of this slop.

People keep talking about a "bluesky bubble" and I cannot stress to these people enough curating a comfortable safe space to be yourself is just a normal human behavior
It is not normal to just allow conflict hatred and awful people to have access to you in some weird exercise to "hear them out"

Gamers: don't listen to the people trying to tell you that $80 isn't too much for a video game. It is too much. And they're doing it on purpose because they don't respect you or the gamer community. They're all laughing at you, and the only way to fight back is to "level up" by embracing communism
