An #agentsguide to THE NECROMANCY OF OZYMANDIAS AND ANNABEL, an Adult Dark Fantasy about a Cuban necromancy student who wants to resurrect his family and the undead woman who searches for her beloved teacher at the scholomance they're both enrolled at.
#amquerying
A graphic with a stack of books in the left corner between a candle and mortar and pestle. On top of the stack is a skull. On the right is a quill above a magic book.

In the center of the graphic it reads: An Agent's Guide to: The Necromancy of Ozymandias and Annabel by Nicholas Perez
A 115,000 word Adult Dark Fantasy A graphic with an owl on a branch in front of the moon at the top right. At the bottom there is a table top with (left to right) two extinguished candles, a broken mirror with shards of it on the table, a skull, and two more extinguished candles.

In the center it reads: The Pitch
Ozy must avoid the murderer in the shadows of the necromantic scholomance to create a soul amethyst to bring back his family, however that murderer just might be the mysterious Annabel, whose fractured memories and hunger for Ozy’s soul make her wonder if she really is the murderer. A graphic that at the top says COMPS, short for comparative titles.
From left to right: the book covers to Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo, A Certain Hunger by Chelsea G. Summers, and the Netflix poster for The Fall of the House of Usher. A graphic that at the top says, What to Expect.

The left side from the top down says:
A bisexual Cuban guy who just wants his family back.

A bisexual woman who hungers for flesh and yearns for the woman who made her into the beast she is.

A school of necromancy for new adult and older adult students in an old Portuguese palace.

The right side from the top down says:
The worst faculty since, well, the movie The Faculty.

Different kinds of necromantic magic and undead creatures.

Are your memories real? Or just lies?

Worm birth.

The past haunts all of us.

NEW — I dug into the story of ICE abducting a 13-year-old boy in Massachusetts and moving him 500 miles across state lines without notifying his mother, local cop's complicity, and how the federal government's justification for such cruelty is already falling apart:
ICE took a 13-year-old they said had a gun. Local cops say he didn’t.
Now he's detained 500 miles away from his Massachusetts home.

I realize times are tough and everything is so expensive but I like to think The Dispatch could at least afford to let Kevin D. Williamson has at least just one more period in the budget.
A paragraph (and single sentence) of Kevin Williamson, which reads, "CHARLES TOWN, West Virginia—Here on the not-at-all-mean streets of Charles Town, West Virginia, where there are antiques shops and upmarket coffee places with pop-Christian praise music on the stereo and advertisements for nice apartments in the shop windows on the main street and fine old municipal buildings, and blocks of sturdy stately Victorian homes, the sidewalks are far from deserted, and if not exactly teeming or bustling with pedestrian traffic, then certainly far from abandoned as they are in so many other Appalachian downtowns, and so walking around on a bright brisk weekday morning with your cappuccino past the Abolitionist Ale Works and Pour Choices Wine and the storefront missionaries handing out food to the needy who already are lined up outside, you can observe a fairly generous and representative selection of both kinds of white people—yoga-mat whites and Marlboro Light whites—while the smell of fresh and no doubt optionally gluten-free baked goods in the air can be understood as the olfactory aspect of the literal air of gentrification settling over the place, which is only about an hour’s drive from the prosperous Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, the federal megapolis that is slowly but steadily incorporating bits and pieces of West Virginia into the asphalt sprawl of what I guess we can just go ahead and start calling Leviathan, the officers and agents of which require new bedroom communities with a CVS and a Starbucks and surely a Whole Foods not far behind however much the locals complain about the newcomers driving up the cost of living, the same old exurban thing, all of which is starting to make me think that maybe I have chosen the wrong place to go hunting for the ghost of John Brown."

He was literally told that muxe were trans woman and he just straight up says they're not.
This has to be willful ignorance if not outright transphobia.

Muxes identify with lo femenino or
what is feminine and many dress in traditional female attire, but they are not gen-
erally seeking to be transgender, or to be accepted as women. The gay men I interviewed were even more emphatic and quick to differentiate
themselves from muxes. Mario, an articulate twenty-four-year-old gay man, for
example, said that
For me a muxe is a man who identifies as a woman and likes to dress like a woman. I
am not muxe. I am gay because I have never wanted to dress like a woman or to be one.
They work in female trades. I know I am a man.

I got my copies of The Prince & The Coyote and Love/Aggression from the Bookshop Anti-Prime sale. They also sent me a copy of Maurice? I double checked my order and I didn't order it nor did Bookshop charge me for it. Not against a free book but I hope I didn't take someone else's book.

There was never anything wrong with avocados. The problem was white people and their sudden enthusiasm for them. You would go to a restaurant and some cracker waitress would make you watch her make mediocre guacamole at your table like it was a magic show.

I guess in some kind of fantasy vacuum you could write 'a man in DRAG and HEAVY makeup wants to tear the uterus out of a lesbian and usurp her symbol of femininity and lesbianism' and have it carry no implications. I don't think any of us lives in that fantasyland though.
