Went into an Ulta for the first time yesterday to find a stocking stuffer for my mom. Found something and the staff were nice, but I did not expect to sell my entire soul at checkout.

Just saw an author's note at the beginning of a book saying that the depictions of the darker content was not the author endorsing said dark content.
This should already be expected of readers to understand. What are we doing here?

3.5 out of 5 stars to Claiming T-Mo by Eugen Bacon

While Claiming T-Mo has some rough spots, the prose is lush and dreamlike and I loved some of the characters. It has definitely made me interested in more of Bacon's books.

The way this keeps happening despite what it says in my profile description. Also, do people think I wouldn't notice?

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Ranin. Ranin was a teacher before this. Ranin had two children Misk, 2 and Sanad, 1 but she lost sweet little Misk. Ranin is also pregnant and her tent was flooded this week. She has a new fundraiser and could really use help.

Man perpetuated the cycle that broke both him and Cathy and became a monster himself.
If you think Heathcliff is the epitome of a romantic hero, you need to reread the book.

That man violently abuses his wife, locks up a teenager away from her dying father and forces her into a bad marriage so he get her money, hangs a dog, abuses his own son, delierately degrades Hareton...

Absolutely this. Imagine a guy coming back into your life after you were a dick to him and he then goes on to seduce your sister in law, marry and abuse her; when you're dead, he digs you up to spend time with, he kidnaps your daughter, mistreats both your nephews (including abusing his own son)...
If they made a modern setting version of Wuthering Heights it’d be like one of those bleak crime drama shows (Silent Witness etc)
