Bold, brutal, and maybe the best of an incredible canon.
REVIEW: Play Nice by Rachel Harrison
Play Nice is not just the best of Harrison, but it feels, in some ways, a further evolution; she’s come to play dirty and knocked it out of the park.

REVIEW: Kings Rising by C.S. Pacat
Kings Rising is one of those finales that left me staring blankly at a wall, trying to pretend all is fine while silently cursing (or thanking?) C.S. Pacat for delivering so many emotional gutpunches

In 2023, Hexworks launched a new game called Lords of the Fallen. Technically a sequel to the 2015 game of the same name, this Lords of the Fallen also acted as a kind of reboot since the first one never hit its stride. Sadly, this second attempt also met mixed reviews … initially.
REVIEW: Lords of the Fallen
I wouldn’t call Lords of the Fallen one of my top-tier soulslikes, but I would call it close to top tier. I had a blast playing it.

Every character has teeth, every alliance has rot underneath, and every moment of tenderness feels like it was dragged through a battlefield.

Big, bold, visually mesmerising, sad, and stacked with grit in the face of hopelessness, Kill Lupercal showcases how good the 40k genre is on screen.
REVIEW: Kill Lupercal
Kill Lupercal is exactly what I signed up for when paying for Warhammer TV. Big, bold, visually mesmerising, sad, and stacked with grit in the face of hopelessness.

Frankenstein (2025) is a dark, beautiful and maudlin tale.
REVIEW: Frankenstein (2025)
The latest iteration of the Frankenstein story, as percolated through Guillermo del Toro’s darkly wonderful mind, is not a ‘monster movie’ and that’s a good thing.
