one response to this (correct) observation is to say “well, the cops will attack you no matter how you dress and behave.” that’s right. images of cops and ICE beating grandmas and kids in inflatable frog costumes is a win for the opposition.

one of the reasons they're so mad at "no kings" is that they thought they were going to get a different kind of protest. they *want* the black bloc to be out there fighting with the cops. those are the images they've been trying to generate from "go." instead--

For the 1st time in 55 years, WAPO paid subscriptions have dropped below 100,000 daily readers, and the elevator is still going down. For a news organization with delusions of national grandeur, that figure is shocking. Glad my cancelled subscription contributed to their problems.

Farmers grow what they grow because of farm policy.

We don’t need all the soy and corn that we grow, but those are the commodities that receive subsidies and markets.

Yes, helps there, but honestly it's a pain in the ass. Have solar, 2 electric cars, and TOU pricing with a smart meter. And utility changes their TOU times a couple times a year (sometimes less). Have to program the car charging, and not all are that sophisticated (can't differ on weekends).
