Upcoming Courtwatch LA training for immigration courts--an important role in community defense. Court watchers, like cop watchers, show that the community is actively participating in its own safety, and in holding the justice system accountable.

Average ppl: People who are still masking are living in fear and not following the science.

The science: ~6 million US children have Long Covid and more than 20 million adults. 400+ million cases worldwide, and oh by the way…

it's almost daily you see a moderately known person with a large following authoritatively say that covid isn't a big deal anymore and you go okay so what studies have you been reading because hundreds of thousands papers disprove that and they're just like well because I think so. vibes alone.

at the last #NoKings rallies, attendees were handcuffed for wearing respirators.

the act of mitigating harm to your &your communities bodies by wearing a facial filter is a noble one
+ it's a helluva lot harder to arrest a whole sea of masked faces, bc it becomes normal.

embody solidarity—mask up.

confirmation from another source of atlanta cops arresting people for wearing masks on chamblee-tucker road. hoping to confirm what kind of masks these folks were wearing, not that it should matter but 😮‍💨

New therapist asked me in our first appointment what I'd like to work on. I said, "Uhh how about... my own tropical private island?? LOL!!!!!! 🤣!!!!!!" But anyway it was suicidal ideation.

work through the stages of grief. tend to your grief. anger is one part of it. an important part.

There’s a lot to be upset about, and I don’t advise putting your head in the sand, but it is really bad for your brain to be mad all the time on a purely physiological level.

If you possibly can, take time to put down the mad.

It will help you think more clearly and remember why you’re doing this.

why would the government willingly choose to make the dying process more complicated and painful than it already is? bc they just want folks to die. they don’t care about quality or quantity of life if you’re unable to work (and sometimes even when you are).

and that’s eugenics.

whatexactlyisup.bsky.social
the dying process is so much more complex than many USians are allowed to believe. some folks are dying for YEARS. they know the inevitable outcome, but they have time.

and why would the gov. remove a vital component of their care if they understood the inherent worth of every human?

whatexactlyisup.bsky.social
so why is it eugenics if someone is already dying?

bc they deserve to have their pain managed so they can handle emotional, relational, spiritual, legal/financial, or any other tasks they want at the end of life. to me, THAT’s dignity in dying.

without adequate pain management at the end of life, what are your options? would you choose debilitating pain of organ shut down and various torturous physical symptoms? that’s why i’m concerned about medical aid in dying.

how many will choose death bc pain management isn’t an option? 3/6

morphine is common and necessary in hospice and palliative care. but it’s still incredibly stigmatized, with family members being concerned their dying loved one will become addicted

but to be addicted you have to be alive and many folks receiving this care are in various stages of dying. 2/6

My Mom came home yesterday for Hospice comfort care. She’s on oral morphine every hour.

I’m am scared & furious because I am almost out of morphine & her Doc & nurses are busy looking for more. Not one pharmacy in my town has any right now & they don’t know when they will be getting more in.
The DEA’s 2025 quotas for opioids will leave seriously ill patients in pain
Palliative care physician Rebecca Rodin writes that DEA opioid medication production limits — which are set to be even lower in 2025 — don’t address the opioid crisis. They just leave her patients in ...

An underrated hack for choosing a quality therapist is to feel out their attitude toward continuing education. Quality therapists take it seriously & go out of their way to learn about topics they aren't specialists in. Mediocre therapists tend to be dismissive & avoidant of CEU’s.

High levels of chemicals are produced by the body early in infection to mobilise the infection fighting cells.

Those chemicals also irritate the heart making it jumpy.

And by jumpy, I do mean dead.
