As an audio contractor, Carlos Rodriguez is used to seeing the homes of Miami’s richest when he’s installing their top-of-the-line sound systems. He also isn’t opposed to occasional flirtation with lonely trophy wives; it’s practically part of the job. So when Carlos is propositioned by a young kept man with looks only money can buy, he can’t help but fall head first into a secret and lurid affair. But Alex isn’t an empty-headed silicone Ken doll. The closer Carlos gets, the more Alex reveals the disturbing details of his relationship with his much older boyfriend—how it began, how it developed, and how tightly Alex wears his proverbial leash. But Alex’s denial runs deep, and Carlos begins to worry that not only is he in over his head, but he doesn’t know how to walk away.

i have never understood the point of instagram. Like sure, it's fine to scroll through video after video of people filming themselves doing interesting arts and crafts but after about 15 minutes that shit gets old. I don't want to be on social media to just consume content.

i have no clue how you gain a following on instagram beyond just mass following a bunch of people in hopes they follow you back. You can't share other people's stuff to your timeline like you can on Bluesky/Tumblr, so what, you just hope an algorithm boosts you?

The dems have just had a shitty few years with Sinema and Manchin and now Fetterman. It's no wonder they don't have the appetite for another edgy white person! Like maybe in 2016 Dems could brush it off but after the Fetterman nonsense, ain't no fucking way. The trust is not there.

also these parameters are not difficult. Check out the history of any average soup kitchen volunteer and they'll likely be well liked and humble and sign their emails "best" or something. The Democratic party could find these people if it were interested.

all of the dems that have been an embarrassment in federal gov't have been white for the most part. There are always outliers who are goofy who have tried who are not white (Yang, for instance), but the fact remains that you gotta treat "new" white Dems with suspicion as default.

I liked the Platner ads too but I think there's a difference between "guy who had some bad reddit posts a decade ago" and "ex-Blackwater merc who still has a Nazi tattoo." Sucks bigtime that he's the only one taking positions and talking policy I like, but them's the breaks!

I think the main problem is Tiktok. people are like "omg everyone is doing this" and it's actually just 15 pretty white women on tiktok. Maybe it's cuz I don't know enough republican church ladies, but I don't know anyone with a Stanley cup. :/

I had a coworker admit to me who easily influenced she is by marketing and hey, gotta pour one out for her self-awareness at least. I was influenced by marketing as a child but I don't think I've been worried about trends since I was 18 or so. It's not something I care about at all.

One thing about saying Democrats should do this or that messaging is that there's nowhere to do that messaging right now. Major social media platforms work for Trump, the networks are scared of him (or taken over by his lackeys). Dems can say whatever they want but there is no megaphone effect.
