This morning at 8:52 AM federal agents shot an on-looker during kidnapping operation in Los Angeles. A US Marshal was also shot. LAPD is on scene assisting and protecting the Feds.

Invited to write for an academic press, but fuggit. It's worse racket, actually, than the work-for-hire publishers I had to deal with in the 1970s-1980s, actually; it's astonishing to me how codified it's become, another example of a creative community accepting the unacceptable/unsustainable.
