GOOD. I watched The Truth vs. Alex Jones (2024) a few weeks ago & the sheer horror of what he did to the families has stuck with me ever since.

Imo, it's an important (but obvs incredibly sad) watch to understand how normalised the spread & acceptance of ridiculous misinformation has become.

If you're not from here, this is not some moribund area off at the fringes of town, it's one of the main thoroughfares in the city centre. Shoppers and tourists get to look at this every day. It's been like this for decades. This is what sensible politicians with sensible policies have gifted us.

In 1916 the BMJ published an article about the work done by James Shearer, an American physician working in the British Army as a sergeant (because he had no British qualification). He had described a
"delineator" which was better than x rays for portraying gunshot wounds. This caused a sensation and a lot of interest — but on investigation the work was found to have been invented. The BMJ published a retraction, but Shearer was tried by court martial and sentenced to death by firing squad.

Claiming that the settlements are legal is either a titanic mistake by someone who has no knowledge, or it is a very, very big lie. The scale of lie that would see you never invited to comment on any credible outlet again. Shatter is not an ill-informed person.

I think they're in complete denial about the fine, it's estimated to be several billion, possibly as high as €20bn depending on how bad our numbers are over the next period.
