Anytime there’s a good election outcome or a not-bad court ruling or a tariff is dropped I have a half-second of gladness and then I turn around and assess the continuing destruction of everything else.

I definitely think “posters” is key here. I’d further posit/surmise becoming a content creator in micro-niches is addicting in its confluence of filming kinetic moments, being an authority appealed to, and just getting attention. And for all this they’re not always wrong, but the context is wonky.
