Actively considering earning less so that I sit under the thresholds still (and hoping it’ll get ditched in future years????)

I saw this at PeckhamPlex and it was a delightful setting for such a film.

Peckham plex is a law unto itself really, but cheap tickets + plentiful pick n mix = happy times.

Autumnal collection, including little owl feather, seedheads & various lovely things that fell off trees.
Zoom in to the details if you’re feeling stressed-the patterns in nature have been shown to help our brains relax🪶:
A collection of seedheads, acorns, sycamore keys, dried flowers, lichen, a little owl feather & a piece of Baltic amber on a white watercolour paper background

Tbf mass lead poisoning of young men might explain *quite a lot* of what’s been happening in recent years.

my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

You can't logic your way out of being burnt out. Unless you're me. Who should be able to do it and it's a personal failing that I can't

I think people might misunderstand what "an A-level ... standard" are in this context.

It's the level of English you would need to be able to study any subject at A level - so no expectation that you've got a good grasp of the works of Shakespeare.
English language requirement for the Skilled Worker, High Potential Individual and Scale-up routes is increased from B1 Level to B2 Level (as defined under the Common European Framework for Reference for Languages (CEFR)).

A bold attempt of change of narrative from the BBC here.
Link to “top 10 of britains most beautiful walks to improve your mood” from CBBC Beachy head is one of them…

for example, if women were to working in a group could all be criminalsied under this. So instead of having a flat where one can listen out for harm/keep watch/whatever, a woman is more likely to have to go the punter’s home / work on the street. Both increases danger enormously.
tinyearlobe.bsky.social
this is so critical - the problem with these laws that theoretically criminalise buyers of sex is that either sex workers get criminalised too, or sex workers are forced to work in more dangerous situations, increasingly their likelihood of harm and the potential severity of that harm.

Oh gosh - I wish you well.

(In these times I like to gamify the Grand Task List by writing out all the the little tasks on slops of paper, scrunching them up, and placing in a giant bowl. I also add tasks like “get a snack” and “have a drink” and ”feed cat” to ensure basic needs are met).

In ASDA you can get two 14-inch pizzas, a side, and a litre of coke for a tenner. This isn't clever or witty or anything, but I think everyone should be told.

When my partner and I want pizza for takeaway, we always then have to check what version of pizza we mean. All of them have a place in my heart - sometimes a greasy dominoes is the ticket, other times an artisanal fancy pants job!
