Hero’s of the day - In a small town of Beckley, WV, Kendra Sullivan staged a one-woman No Kings protest. She was confronted, had the police called on her, but stood her ground. She was physically threatened. Police came more than once and protected her right to protest. This is how we do it.

I stopped by the protest downtown this afternoon. The route went east over the hawthorn and then west over the Morrison. Both bridges were packed with marchers. I have no idea how long the crowd was but I bet you could have just finished and started back again and still be in the crowd.

The view outside with the fog and changing leaves is very scenic.

View from kitchen window. Backyard with trees and shrubs around the perimeter. Some, such as the vine maple, are changing leaf color. Fog is thick at about 15 ft masking other houses and giving deep autumn vibes.

I’m watching a baking show and this guy is making molded chocolate and is worried because one of them might break. But why didn’t he make an extra? They never make an extra.

I made a Swiss cheese and mushroom quiche. Except I subbed leek for onion, Gouda for Swiss, tomatoes for mushrooms and parsley for thyme. I think my biggest problem is my spring form pan is leaking.
