“Young adults aren’t having enough kids” bro I’m employed full-time with a damn PhD and I’m struggling to afford both groceries and rent.

I love kids but I can barely afford my pets.

Want us to have kids? Try UBI, rent control, universal healthcare, cheaper child care.

One reason behind Western decline is that US capital gave up on investing in productive forces long ago.

The current system is all about looting / grifting through financial engineering, rent extraction, and speculative bubbles.

When the system rewards that, reversing it is near impossible.
BIRD FACTS
Did you ask for a bird fact? No, but you're getting one whether you like it or not. 🪶
Photo of a Pinyon Jay standing in the grass peering at the ground by Aaron Bugdor. A thought bubble above the bird's head says: "Pretty sure that rat Russ is spying on me again. Probably should pretend to hide one right here." Text on the graphic says: Unsolicited Bird Fact: Pinyon Jays cache seeds for later use by burying them in the ground. A single jay can store approx. 2,600 seeds in the fall when the pinyon pine cone crop is good & they're really good at remembering where they put them. But their fellow jays sometimes raid their stash, so Pinyon Jays will pretend to hide a seed, or they will move already cached seeds to keep them guessing."

This year we can support up to 800 players at once in this seasonal pumpkin carving MMO!

This year's update comes with new areas and new secrets to find.

Hope you don't mind if I re-use the trailer from last year! 😅

the reason why the game industry doesn’t have unions is because as a collective, we are pretty bad at organizing and also too many people are too comfortable in their jobs and afraid to go up against their companies

Remember that business, particularly tech capitalists, no longer operates on the idea of a consumer market, but a speculative investor market. They aren’t trying to create good products to fill consumer market demand, they’re trying to conceptualize product ideas that appeal to FOMO investors.
Can you imagine a writers retreat where everyone is talking to their computer all the time? Or a classroom? Or trying to work in an open plan office where everyone in every cubicle is talking in loud clear voices and then things go wrong because their computer heard Bill talking two cubicles over...
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

MAKE SURE YOU ARE VACCINATED AGAINST MEASLES. GET YOUR MMR.

Measles cases have reached their HIGHEST point since the disease WAS ELIMINATED from the United States in 2000. We are at the tipping point for the return of ENDEMIC measles.
