I think that there should be a mandatory civics education course and exam that elected officials are required to pass before they can take office, at the city, state and federal levels. They should have to retake it at the beginning of every term.

That is exactly how I got on the subscription model in 2023, in the middle of illustrating final art for a picture book. In the twelve years since, I have paid way more money to keep the subscription than I would have to buy the programs I need.

Friendly reminder that creative work drains you in a way that 'normal' work doesn't so it's totally cool and necessary to have (what seems to be) inordinately longer breaks and/or weird ways of refuelling.

This goes extra if you're a neurodivergent sort.
