Today marks the first day of early voting in Texas! For the November 4 election, the early voting window runs from October 20 to October 31.

Make your voice heard, check your polling location, bring one of the approved photo IDs, and vote early.

The Republican shutdown means that nonessential federal employees like soldiers and TSA agents aren't being paid anymore, but rest assured that the truly vital work of this administration -- building a Dancing with the Stars ballroom for the dementia-addled president -- still goes on.
Scoop: Trump has started demolishing the White House's East Wing facade to build his ballroom. The president had claimed construction of the $250 million building wouldn’t ‘interfere’ with the existing White House structure. /W @ddiamond.bsky.social wapo.st/4hqBNiU

Trump is doing at his sleazy club in 2025 exactly what he did in the 1990s there and at the Plaza Hotel.

The idea that a man who's never faced consequences for being a serial sexual predator and disgusting pimp would contemplate changing his stripes is counter to everything we know of human nature.

Anyone who read the sections of PROOF OF DEVILRY already released is in no way surprised by this. Trump has a decades-long history of pimpery—including with underage girls—and this just confirms that he hasn't changed one iota.

It's depressing that people are surprised by this reporting from Zeteo.

We Americans live in a country that doesn't even care about rape or pedophilia anymore, at least not when it comes to the most powerful people in the country

I am not over that, I cannot get over that, and I will never be able to get over that

How could one *ever* be proud of such a country again?

The longer this goes on, the more Americans want to know why Republicans are protecting pedophiles.
Republicans continue to postpone the swearing-in of Adelita Grijalva, the newest Democrat elected to Congress, for a 20th day.

Her day one promise is to be the tie-breaking vote to release the Epstein files.

I really resent my tax dollars being spent on this

Yikes.

Along with the $20 billion U.S. taxpayer bailout to Argentina, the Trump admin announced another $20 billion for Argentina from private banks. But the banks won’t lend the money without a guarantee from the federal government. So it’s a $40B taxpayer bailout.

And the trees! Those really hurt.

American historians must be shellshocked.

I knew Trump would be bad, but he's been even worse than I could have imagined.

Just this week he imaged himself as a King shitting on America, pardoned George Santos, and started tearing apart the White House.

I know these aren’t government employees but this seems even weirder given that it’s happening in the shutdown. I guess he will probably stiff them like he always does contractors.

It's all artisinal handcrafted wood trim and restoration double hung windows too, all probably crafted at significant expense for restorations by the national park service and probably mounted for easy removal for maintenance. But nope just smash it with a backhoe

Seriously it looks like the haphazard jackhammer approach was intentional. Could have scaffolded/tarped and treated the place with respect. I mean, it’s the photo of the year IMO as a visual representation of Trumps complete destruction.

it just hits right to the gut. i mean, i think most people know presidents change the White House but not like this. you don't take an excavator to the walls

I believe they under estimated the damage that particular photo was going to cause. I mean he’s literally tearing down the White House.

Trump is a destructive moronic asshole.

He also paved over Jackie Kennedy’s Rose Garden in August. The East Wing was designated as the Office of the First Lady in 1978 by Rosalyn Carter. I feel like it’s retribution for the protests. I feel like it conveys a hatred for women. He wants to break beautiful things

He did this in NYC with one of his early hotels, promised ny’ers he would preserve the facades during renovations …but then just had em ripped off and destroyed

I'm not a West Wing obsessed lib or anything but the more I see pictures of this the more fucked up I think it is. It's like he cut off one of the hands of the Lincoln memorial with an angle grinder so he could add a big gun to it.

Well, the American people don’t get a break—from missed paychecks, delayed services, and rising costs. It’s time for Republicans to show up and do their jobs. (2/2)

Today marks day 20 of the Republicans’ shutdown, and unfortunately, they’ve decided that staying on vacation is more important than getting back to D.C. to open the government.

I guess they wanted a little fall break?
