i don't think it's an exaggeration to say that rob reiner is a meaningful part of the reason i have the federal right to marry today

I'll say it again: It is a genuinely hard problem to train a robot to wash dishes, cook food, or do laundry. These tasks all require complex embodied forms of intelligence we don't understand. Compared to that, writing passable code or generating meh prose is incredibly easy for a computer to do.
