New thread for my #NoMansSky screenies, starting with the Kzinrette, my S-class Freighter and mobile base of operations. In order; Exterior, Fleet Command, Industrial Bay, and the Labs/Hydroponics.

No Man's Sky: A Solar-class starship sails past an orange and black bulk freighter parked amidst the rings of a planet in a Blue-class star system. No Man's Sky: A giant Solar System Scanner table sits between two rows of three Fleet Command terminals in a large command room, while various officers and frigate captains mill about. Reinforced portholes on the far wall show slices of the nearby planet's rings beyond. An enormous open bay with an unfinished floor contains multiple Industrial areas, including multiple refiners and storage units. The close row of Storage is numbered 0, 1, and 2, while at least a '4' can be seen in the back row. Small doorways and ramps lead up to a smaller, finished office area with a Portal, Desk, and Commerce Terminal. I've literally done work for projects who have sent me like, cell phone/webcam microphone recordings of them giving a sample read to demonstrate tone/pace, or clarify direction or just show me a scene with placeholder audio so I have the visual

This is literally normal practice

I'm a solo dev. I was the sole provider of my homestead. I spent somewhere between 20k-30k USD over 7 years just in voice acting because I BELIEVED in it. I gave voice actors reasons to believe in my projects and directed some of the best performances in indie games

Being a small team is no excuse. Especially if your early access game goes gangbusters. Especially if nobody in-house has experience with this kind of thing. There's amazing VA directors are out there *right now* you could hire.

After being forced to "upgrade" to Win 11, I find @microsoft.com Dragon Naturally Speaking won't work unless I upgrade to 16 for $700. Without Dragon, it took me 15 min. to type this. So, I have no choice. God bless disability tax. Beware, fellow disabled peeps.

My current headache with VRChat avatars is with avatars that have a lot of in-game customization options.

I have yet to find any kind of reasonable way to extract the params from the in-game customization back out so that I can apply/preview them in Unity.
