If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.

Not sure the man responsible for this poster is best placed to lecture anyone else on taking politics “into the gutter”.

Nationalise and rationalise school apps.
One app to rule them all..
The Arbor App for parents is a technical nightmare.

Things were better when computer was in room. Now everywhere is computer. This is bad. Computer should never have escaped room.

This must be a watershed moment. The government's continued use of X is no longer simply negligent. It is an act of conscious assistance to violent extremism.
The common sense meaning should make this Elon Musk's "rivers of blood" moment

Though I think he goes further than Enoch Powell in a couple of important ways
Elon Musk spoke by video to Tommy Robinson's anti-immigrant rally in the UK today.

"You're in a fundamental situation here where, whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you," said Musk. "You either fight back or you die."

Nigel Farage looks uncomfortable as Jamie Raskin uses his opening statement to absolutely demolish him

Life’s getting a bit more crap here if you are a person from an ethnic minority 🧵
It really does. It’s a properly special thing. It was on the decline in the late 2010s but cancelling it in Covid year seems to have given it a real boost again and it’s bloody brilliant.
And there’s also a brilliant little Greenhill art gallery showing the fabulous Widdershins exhibition featuring folklore and fantasy pieces by Alan Lee (of Lord of the Rings fame) amongst others. It’s been wonderful.
Risk assessments are for wimps, obviously
…not to get all political but this sort of joy and creativity and unabashed silliness is what we all need right now
Have enjoyed an excellent few days back home in the shire (Dartmoor). Carnival was a particular highlight…
Very good, I’m so impressed with everyone’s efforts. My very small contribution was helping my mum dress up as a lettuce…
I was going to post something about my last 24 hours in the hometown but Jon has summed it up very well here
Carnival last night here... 100th anniversary so very many in town waking to an even worse hangover than usual.

Usual madness dialled up to 11 - it was excellent - was dancing in the square to an excellent live funk and soul band until midnight.
I came home specially for this and it was fabulous. This summed it up for me…

Polling from @Moreincommon_ on Lucy Connolly

More than half think her sentence was too lenient or about right. Only a third that it was too harsh.

Only 18% think politicians should associate themselves her, while 51% think they should actively distance themselves from her.

Here's how the real two-tier Britain works:
1. Whatever Nigel Farage says, however stupid, is looped and discussed by the media, while left-wing voices are treated as noises off.
2. Tiny far-right protests get massive airtime, while 10s of 000s gathering for Palestine or green causes are ignored.🧵

It is very nearly the tenth anniversary of that brief moment when, for 2 or 3 days, British newspapers remembered refugees are desperate human beings who need our help, rather than scum that it's okay to threaten with violence.

Yikes - the land surrounding the Cerne Abbas Giant is up for sale!

Lot 1 is top-quality chalk downland bursting with wildflowers & butterflies - orchids, skippers… going for £950k. It absolutely needs to be preserved. Hope the NT or similar can buy

Important public service announcement. Reading it might just save a life.
Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning
Drowning is not the violent, splashing call for help that most people expect.
