Hey folks just fyi please @ me and tell me if we’re mutuals on Twitter because i 1 find this website hard to parse and 2 forget who everyone is if I can’t see their long-standing pfp
I’m glad I wasn’t quoted or linked directly, at least

It’s poetic justice that Andrew Cuomo, who has decided to base his entire political identity on being the Italian equivalent of a good ol’ boy, doesn’t even grasp the nuances of the Italian language.

This Fuckin’ Guy just saw an Italian word that looked like “disgrace” and ran with it.
funniest thing about this is that Cuomo is wrong. "disgraziata" doesn't typically mean "disgrace" as in "shameful." It means something a lot more like "unfortunate" or "unlucky." "Disonore" is the word he should be using here.
I was just one of the replies! I think they changed their mind because a bunch of readers expressed concerns.
Oh no, I just was one of the replies

Also, ftr, I am not a native speaker, I just took Italian for a few years, thought it sounded off, and looked it up. Entirely possible in wrong but online dictionaries at least agreed with me here.
if you saw the previous two versions of this tweet with different typos each time. no you didn't
both "disgrace" and "disgraziata" mean "without grace," but in English the "grace" in question means something like "manners" or "respectability," whereas the "grace" in italian is referring to the older conception of divine grace, having good fortune, etc.

this is an absolutely unhinged connection to make. literally the thing that every single teams user reports is that they HATE IT

THEY'RE IN TEAMS BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO BE FOR THEIR JOB

Cuomo: Mamdani "gave the finger to the Columbus Day statue—that's what we call a DISGRAZIATO."

(turns to Sliwa) "Do you know what that means?"

wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...

i'll do it. i don't have anything else going on
The quote I gave was in reply to me (in a longer post addressing my thoughts, which was generous of them), but I don't think my post really did anything, individually.
oh no, I don't think *I* talked them out of it. I imagine what happened is that a lot of readers sent messages expressing their concerns, and the collective response talked them out of it.

could be anyone!
Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic."

? Where's the benefit of the doubt here? There's a pretty concrete assertion they're making about the future of their work that will be extremely easy to verify lol
Ultimately I'm not one either, but as I learn more about things like Hermeticism, I'm finding it useful conceptually (and sometimes, in practice, spiritually)
after. I tried to talk with them about that and how my own limited understanding of chaos magic and their philosophy made me think they were wrong about AI, on their own terms. They were very kind in their full reply, even as they pointed out some errors of mine.
this means that your computer will be always listening to you, btw, in the way that an alexa-type device is. In order for "hey, copilot!" to work, it *has* to be listening to you at all times. That doesn't mean you're being recorded, or data is being stored, but be aware.

There’s a free application, shutup10++, that lets you disable all the shitty windows stuff with a series of checkboxes.
It even tracks if windows rolls anything back between updates and lets you reverse the changes with a click.
I can personally recommend shutup10++ if you need to stick with windows
