in case you need a reminder. or a dragon.

Halloween treats on wax paper as they set. They look like ghosts flying on broomsticks. They are white chocolate with black eyes and mouth, sitting on pretzel stick broomsticks, that have a fruit rollup wrapped on the end and cut to look like the sweeper part of the broom.

I tracked down their ages. (Weirdly, it seems nobody else did.)

Eight of the 11 in the group chat range from 24 to 35. Ages of others are unclear.

Trump's mechanism to pay the troops during the shutdown is by far the most illegal budgetary action he's taken as POTUS, potentially setting the stage to break everything.

It's also needless because Congress would easily pass a troop pay bill if Johnson were willing to gavel in.

Yes, and also wild to see folks in the replies also dealing with multiple calls a week (sometimes a day!) for loan offers. It’s been going on for a month or more now. I end up missing important voicemails because I sometimes just forget to even check since there will be 10 of the loan messages.

“this appears to be a reference to the AfD” is a highly optimistic interpretation of that sentence. which is reallllllly saying something.

The proposals also advise Mr. Trump to prioritize Europeans who have been “targeted for peaceful expression of views online such as opposition to mass migration or support for ‘populist’ political parties.”

That appeared to be a reference to the European far-right political party Alternative for Germany, whose leaders have trivialized the Holocaust, revived Nazi slogans and denigrated foreigners. Vice President JD Vance has criticized Germany for trying to suppress the views of the group, which is known as the AfD.
