don't waste the player's time. add a million little things in the background, but don't force anyone to endure your storytelling, no matter how pleased you are with it. players are like honey badgers, always moving towards their own goal, but they'll stop and look if something interests them
What's your number one personal game design principle? And even better - does it have a cool name?

Ok last thing I say about Absolum I swear (it won't be the last):

Hiding secrets under secrets that require you to do secret things that don't require looking it up on a wiki first it's one of the coolest things ever and I was not expecting to see so many surprises in a damn beat em up game
Ok @dotemu.bsky.social I gotta ask the important question now:

Can you still turn a chicken into your companion in Absolum or that was just a lucky moment I found in the demo version?

The game already have over 80 penises!
It's a new record for my games!
The alpha demo will be soon available for all Patreons from $1 tier to above.
Supporting with $5 or more and you get the full game on Halloween + thanks in the credits.
It will be a short (but hard) 5 to 10 minute game.

Explore a maze, collect 10 pieces and escape the area.

Huh, quite weird to bloat a roguelike with things like that. But if you want to try a roguelike with 3 currencies that actually works give Absolum a go, you won't regret it trust me
Not Absolum throwing me a fucking entire new sidequest out of a character interaction that makes me explore an area that was already hidden with another hidden area with an extra boss on it.

Can anyone please explain to me how this game is so great without needing 8 years in the making
Joe Cappa's HaHa you Clowns is legit one of my favorite feel good shows, and the HBO series started with the right notes
Absolum keeps on giving me joy even when I think it has run out of surprises to give me. If this game fades into obscurity due to the goldfish attention span of the regular gamer I will RIOT
What happened in Hades 2 that you didn't enjoy as much as the original?
Some kids are assholes and they will deliberately act as such while playing innocent. If you don't think this is the case, you should work as a teacher instead of telling everyone "how easy it is to fix education" from an outsider's perspective
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Nintendo will turn into the new Disney, for no better and all worse
GeE, if only there was a way to play those old gaMes, yoU know, Like something thAT allows you to Internally replicate Old coNsoles...

Guess it can't be done
If the reimagining/remake/thing allows me to fast forward or skip dialogue that's it, all fixed, cause holy hell what a nothing salad this game is in terms of plot progression (music's also against it, most themes don't fit the situation and are waaaay to chill)
I just can't deal with DQ VII and its molasses like pacing. There's slow burn and then there's this game that has to show you. Every. Single. Movement. And action. Of every. Single. NPC. BEFORE. MOVING. FORWARD.
All the drawings I made yesterday at the comic store #fanart #comics
Buy it buy it buy it buy it one of the greatest metroidvanias out there BUY ITTTT
