It’s a miracle I didn’t swing, couldn’t afford the bond. She was a manager at an earthbound trading co. I was working pt seasonal. We tried reporting her, as this was not her only racist comment. Only myself, a black man, and a Hispanic girl were not asked to stay on full time when season wrapped.

Every person I’ve had the displeasure of meeting that refers to black people this way, or POC in general as “colored,” are the worst people. They’re insufferable, deeply racist, and they will say ANYTHING dead in your gazers. Growing up in corn fed KKK hell, Indiana, means I’ve met a lot of these.

I’m white passing. Once had someone look me in the face and say “Usually I don’t talk to blacks, but I’m sure you don’t know your dad to associate with that side.”

I do engage with black culture. I know my father, and in fact my parents were married. This was my first introduction to this person.
